KUK – Career Paths – Alumni report on their career start
Alumni of the University of Bayreuth talk about their careers – they send young professionals with 1–5 years of professional experience who talk about their career start from first-hand experience. At each event, 3–4 alumni from different companies or law firms present their entry into an industry or specialist area.
The kick-off event in 2017 focused on the field of taxation and auditing. Three alumni who worked at auditing firms of varying sizes reported on their personal career paths. They also discussed the extent to which their studies at the University of Bayreuth had helped them and in which tasks, and shared some insider information.
This is exactly what KUK Career Paths is all about: in a small panel discussion moderated by us, alumni of the University report on their individual experiences when starting their careers and give tips for students and doctoral candidates who want to pursue a similar career path, including relevant lectures and course content as well as practical experience during and after their studies.
- What content from seminars and lectures was and still is helpful in professional life?
- What are the advantages of studying at the University of Bayreuth?
- What tips are there for applying for jobs?
- Are there any recommendations on how students can get similar jobs, e.g. application strategies?
- How important is practical experience for starting a job in your desired industry?
These are just a few of the questions that can be answered at KUK Career Paths. The audience has the opportunity to send us questions in advance, which the moderator will then read out, or to ask questions spontaneously during the event itself. Of course, the respective employers will also be introduced in a short presentation and the advantages of starting a career with them over their competitors will be outlined.
Why should you participate in KUK Career Paths?
Are you an alumnus or alumna of the University of Bayreuth with 1-5 years of professional experience working at your company/law firm who would like to return to your alma mater to give the current generation of students and doctoral candidates an insight into starting a career? Is your company/law firm prepared to face the competition in a panel discussion? Then KUK Career Paths is the right place for you.
The target audience depends on the respective topic at KUK Career Paths. In all cases, however, it is students and doctoral candidates who are interested in the subject area/industry.
